CAD Technician/Designer

This leading Fit Out & Interior company has a requirement for an immediate available Designer / CAD Technician. And in the coming weeks there is a potential requirement for 2 more people. They are a fanstatic company with great career prospects.

The in house retail design team is looking for a proficient Designer/CAD

Technician with architectural or interior design grounding to assist with the preparation of detail design and production information. Experience in retail an advantage.

The role may also involve attending scoping meetings and site visits, and performing basic (check-dimension) surveys.

Position offered as Temporary with the view of going permanent after 3 months.

Preparation of detail design and production information, usually from client Concept Design Guidelines. Prepare all necessary drawings, specifications and supporting documents to progress the design and facilitate site implementation. (Typical drawing packages would include general arrangement layouts, including furniture and finishes plans, reflected ceiling and small power plans, shop front elevations, internal elevations.)

• Manage productivity against agreed/ specified targets/hours.
• Record all variations from agreed scope of service and obtain approval from Retail Design Team Leader to carry out additional works.
• Prepare store specific designs at macro and micro levels, ensuring all are compliant to statutory, corporate health and safety, DDA and other applicable initiatives.
• Prepare statutory applications for approval, including planning, building regulations, landlord etc.
• Report and act on customer feedback and project performance appraisals to improve levels of service at every opportunity
• Monitor and report progress of the designs/layouts to the client, design and project teams as necessary
• Ensure any potential issues on delivery are communicated immediately to the Retail Design Team Leader and appropriate actions agreed and implemented.

The seccusseful candidates will need good AutoCAD skills, with experience using Revit a bonus.

The candidate should preferably be in possession of a valid driver’s licence as travel throughout the UK may be required.
